Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Bluesky search Chrome extension free?

Yes, the extension is completely free. There are no premium features, subscriptions, or hidden costs.

Do I need a Bluesky account to use the extension?

No, you can search Bluesky without an account. However, logging into Bluesky will give you more personalized results and access to features like from:me to search your own posts.

What can I search for on Bluesky?

You can search for posts by keyword, exact phrase, username (from:user), date range (since/until), language, domain links, and hashtags. All filters can be combined.

Does the extension work on other browsers?

The extension is built for Chrome and Chromium-based browsers like Edge, Brave, and Opera. Firefox is not supported at this time.

Does the extension collect my data?

No. The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Your search queries are sent directly to Bluesky. We never see them.

How is this different from Bluesky's built-in search?

Bluesky's built-in search only has a single text box. This extension gives you a structured form with separate fields for each filter type, making it much easier to build complex searches without memorizing the search syntax.
